Two Tools to Beat Google’s Mobile Experience Algo (And Help Mobile Searchers) - Mobile Web Design & SEO Company

As far as I know, this is the first move in which making a mobile searcher pinch and zoom could put sites at a disadvantage over sites that don’t.

Keep in mind, the details of the change haven’t been announced yet, as Google has only hinted that such a change will happen in the near future. But if you run your site through the two tools below, you’ll have a better chance of avoiding any fallout from the change than your competitors that don’t.

1. Google’s PageSpeed Insights Tool

Google has already said that if your site doesn’t load quickly on mobile devices, it might adjust its rankings to demote your page. However, the PageSpeed insights tool is about more than just speed.
Recently, Google updated the tool to provide insight into five new User Experience rules that, if I were a betting man, I would say are part of the upcoming mobile user experience algorithm. The recommendations are as follows:
  1. Avoid plugins
  2. Configure the viewport
  3. Size content to viewport
  4. Size tap targets appropriately
  5. Use legible font sizes

You can test your site for all five of these mobile usability factors now in PageSpeed Insights. The tool also gives you more details on why each is important for mobile users, and how to fix them if necessary.

Google Rolls Out Panda 4.1 Against More Thin Content - Best SEO Company

Google has announced that it is rolling out the next iteration of its infamous Panda algorithm that is a filter designed to kill thin or poor content in search rankings. The update started rolling out this week, and will continue into the next. Reportedly, it will roughly impact between 3% and 5% search queries - primarily those with thin or poor quality content we often see on download and ad websites etc.

What's new in this algorithm?

According to Google, this version is supposed to be more precise and will allow more high-quality small and medium-sized sites to rank better. Google also claims to have been able to discover additional signals to help Panda more accurately identify low quality content, thanks to user and webmaster feedback.

This means that you don't need a massive site to earn the top spot. In the announcement, Google said;

Another piece of good news is if you were penalized by Panda previously, then this update means the damage may have been undone if you did all the right things to correct the issue. If you see an increase in traffic by the end of next week, then it’s a good sign this update worked out in your favor.
